Diplomacy; what it is and what it isn't.

Javier Milei articulating how populist leftists need to be handled if you don’t want your country ruined socially and economically:

While lots of people share this sentiment, they are never allowed near the corridors of power. Except after this weeks primary elections in Argentina, Milei beat both major political parties in the vote and stands a good chance of winning the presidency.

If that occurs - and Milei isn’t assassinated, Epstein’d or ‘handled’ behind closed doors - Argentina could be exiting the ‘hard times’ part of the cycle and be in for a period of prosperity.

BRICS

As the upcoming BRICS summit in South Africa nears, we see increasing speculation on the creation of a new BRICS currency.

Why would the nations of Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa create a currency that would make them more vulnerable to outside attack than they already are, as well as remove their own nations sovereignty and control of it’s monetary decisions?

They won’t.

There will not be at this summit or a future one the creation of a new block currency similar to the Euro which has proved itself a disaster for many nations that forfeited their monetary sovereignty to a group of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.

What may eventually be worked out is a system for bilateral trade using each BRICS members national currencies through certain clearing mechanisms, independent of the West and immune to outside interference, potentially with some element of gold backing for additional trust and balance settlement when desired.

Other ideas being thrown around of a newly formed currency, or of an official level of gold backing will simply create a centralised surface open to attack by Western financial interests and work against the ultimate goals of more cohesive trade between BRICS members.

The only party that would benefit from a BRICS currency is Western interests, providing them a centralised boogey man to target. Maybe that’s why we see so much talk of it?

Diplomacy

Diplomacy entails engaging in constructive conversations with various parties, even those you may not be on good terms with, including adversaries. It involves understanding their perspectives, while also carefully weighing these viewpoints alongside your own objectives.

The ultimate aim is to arrive at mutually agreeable solutions — resolutions that might not entirely satisfy any party involved, but are tolerable enough to maintain harmonious relations, facilitate trade, and, crucially, avert direct confrontations and conflicts.

It includes having the care and willingness to understand more nuances details. An example this week when the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived for a meeting in Singapore with his counterpart. Noticing he isn’t wearing a tie, Wang immediately removes his as does his entourage.

Respect. Awareness. Building rapport while being sensitives to other nations concerns and priorities and reaching mutually beneficial resolutions. We can see why nations worldwide are extending a welcoming hand to China over lectures and sanctions from the US, UK and EUSSR.

Now let’s talk about what diplomacy is NOT about.

It’s not about winning at all costs. It’s not about beating the other side outright so they are a loser while you are triumphant. This only leads to future tension and conflict. However this is the only way the United States, the UK and the EUSSR have come to operate their diplomacy in recent years. It’s our way, or we sanction you to hell or bomb you.

Let’s take a look at who is supposedly Europe’s chief diplomat. Incredibly, despite all this has happened over the last eighteen months, the unelected bureaucrats at the head of the EUSSR still believe their own propaganda. Their head ‘diplomat’ Josep Borrell this week:

"Putin is going to sacrifice his people and his army for his personal and political survival, and that is why it is so difficult to negotiate peace."

Except it’s the Ukrainian people the West is sacrificing at little cost to themselves - if we conveniently ignore all the NATO ~~soldiers~~ mercenaries dying. It should also be noted the the EUSSR is not trying to negotiate in any way. There are no talks, and the only words coming out of their chief diplomat are scorns and derision against Russia and pleas for more weapons and money every other day. There are not requests for talks, negotiations or any sort of diplomacy. There is certainly no openness to understanding Russia as a sovereign nation has it’s own interests you may not understand.

This is not the picture of a diplomat trying to find a solution, working to negotiate a compromise that is acceptable to all sides. Hell, there isn’t even dialogue, let alone willingness to compromise. There is simply shouting, scorn and derision.

The same tired, throw away lie above about Russia as a gas station does not help anyone. It simply makes nice headlines for a controlled media to give sheep with no interest or real understanding a reason to regurgitate and feel better about their declining economic and social circumstances.

Let me remind that technically the EUSSR is not a party to the conflict (officially anyway), yet it’s member nations are seeing their economies increasingly impoverished, being pummeled with high inflation while eeking out anemic growth around 0.5% currently while food inflation tops 10%.

Russia meanwhile has recovered from the imposition of sanctions in 2022 and is back on the economic growth path, over 5%.

Happily unlike Western leaders and bureaucrats, one can always count on the Russians for a sensible rebuttal when they are so openly attacked. Maria Zakharova:

So can we expect to see a return to real diplomacy in the West soon? From the EUSSR, no chance. It is simply a vassal state, beholden to it’s American masters, which is why the Russians no longer take it seriously. Individual European states may have the willingness to talk to Russia in the future, particularly as the EUSSR continues to weaken, but the unelected block in Brussells has proved itself an ignorant, violent, Russophobic blob beyond any compromise other than that which will be forced upon them.

Russia knows there is no point in talking to the underlings, you need to speak with those in charge. Despite all its domestic problems, that is still the United States. Fortunately there are still sane heads in the US, however they are being silenced by the necons currently in control of the puppet, dementia-riddled presidency.

We are entering a dangerous period in the lead up to the US presidential election next year. As Russia continues its slow grind in Ukraine, an increasingly desperate necon wing in the US may lash out in an effort to distract from domestic woes, ramping hostilities by doing something stupid like providing planes to Ukraine, or coaxing the Poles into the West of the country.

Conversely, the military industrial complex may grow weary of the embarrassment of seeing it’s super dooper weaponry destroyed in Ukraine and put an end to it. We can only hope.

At this point it really could go either way. You know what may help? Diplomacy.

Germany Bureaucratic Hypocrisy

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock proving this week it’s always ‘rules for thee and not for me’ among socialist politicians. Seems the minister who is vocal critic on air travel and a massive virtue signaller on all things climate in one failed trip has emitted more carbon into the atmosphere than most people will in a life time.

Baerbock and her entourage departed Germany on their rickety aircraft without incident, landing to refuel at Abu Dhabi late Sunday or early Monday morning. They took off again at 3:33 am bound for Australia, but the pilots found they could not retract the landing flaps. They had to dump 100,000 litres of fuel to make the overweight plane fit for landing. When jets dump fuel at altitude, it is aerosolised; the small droplets eventually decay into water vapour, ozone and carbon dioxide, all of which would normally contribute to the greenhouse effect, but as in this case the fuel was released on behalf of Germany’s leading Green climate botherer, we can be assured that the action had if anything an emissions-reducing effect.
Back at the Abu Dhabi airport, Baerbock opted not to continue to Australia via a vastly more climate-friendly if considerably less comfortable commercial flight; throughout her tenure in Scholz’s cabinet, she has used government planes for 70 trips, while flying commercial only a handful of times. After repairs, the A340 departed on a second attempt for Australia at 1am on Tuesday. Yet again, the flaps jammed, forcing the pilots to dump another 100,000 litres of fossil fuels into our carbon-laden atmosphere. Defeated and the subject of international mockery, Baerbock returned to Hamburg via a commercial Emirates flight on Tuesday.

Of course this won’t change her future actions. Socialist leaders relish in the trappings of power while forcing sacrifice on their citizens. Some things never change.
